Erin Wooddell
Spring has sprung and it’s almost 80 degrees here today! That means my taste in music has shifted, as it does every year when the days are longer and brighter. Having more sunshine—compared to the winter months where it’s dark by the time everyone leaves work—seems to bring out a renewed sense of optimism that may have been lost somewhere in the hustle of January. At least that’s the case for me.
It makes me want to go for a drive down a dirt road with my windows rolled down, singing at the top of my lungs.
Without further ado, here are some of the songs I’ve been listening to on repeat for the last couple of months. Enjoy!

| 1. We all know Ed Sheeran can belt out a tune. This is just the latest debut off his soon-to-be-released album, and it doesn't disappoint. 2. I first found Morgan Taylor Reid in a song called "Brighter" that was perfect for wintertime moods. "City in Motion" is fun and more upbeat. It perfectly describes how I've been feeling as I embark on adventures in this brand new city. 3. If you've yet to discover Jake Bugg, you've been missing out. This guy is phenomenal and his songs are incredibly soothing. 4. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club can do no wrong. Honest Opinion. Listen to this and rock out. 5. Nickel Creek. Ah. There are no words. They are my favorites. Co-blogger Emily and I got to see them in Nashville a few weeks ago and I was once again blown away as I watched them on stage. They are incredible talents. |
6. Who doesn't love a good Keith Urban tune when jamming out in the car?
7. I was so excited to find out NEEDBREATHE was back with a new album. The title of this particular song intrigued me. Does anyone remember the animated Anastasia tune, "Journey to the Past"? The opening line was, "Heart, don't fail me now." Of course, I thought of that when I saw NEEDTOBREATHE's new song. It sounds nothing like the Anastasia tune, FYI, just thought I'd let you share in that little jaunt back in time.
8. Free download represent! Betty Who reminds me of a mix of Katy Perry and late 80s pop mixes. You'll love it.
9. Speaking of the 80s...
My dear brother just recently turned 30, so I made him a mix of top hits from the year he was born. "Hold Me Now" was on the list. Even though I've had this song for years, I was reintroduced to how catchy it is and I can't stop listening.
10. Springtime starts wedding season, and I often find the best songs about love are old ones. Louis Prima's voice also makes me happy.
11. J. Cole kind of reminds me of fun, old-school rappers like Nelly. (Hm, Is Nelly "old school"? I feel like I'm not the authority on that.)
12. "Who Needs You" sounds like an awesome anthem that makes you want to sing along, including the perfect amount of an "angry" sound.
